Slither.io was the first .io style game to get my attention way back when. Since then there have been a number of different snake themed .io style games released. Right now one of the most popular Snake style .io games is Snaker.io. This game is almost identical to Slither.io but has 3D graphics as well as much smoother controls.

The object of the game Snaker.io is to collect as many glowing items as you can without killing your snake. Your snake will die if its head touches the body of any other snake on the playing surface. When your snake dies it turns into more glowing pieces or particles that can be eaten by other snakes. The same thing applies to when you kill other snakes or other snakes are killed by other players. When any snake dies it becomes food that can be eaten by the other snakes to get bigger and increase their percentage.
A common question asked by Snaker.io players is “has anyone ever gotten to 100% in the game?” For now the answer to this question is no. As of now nobody has managed to get big enough in the game Snaker.io to reach one hundred percent. Therefore we are not entirely sure what happens when you reach 100% in the game. For some it is unclear what the percentage means in the game Snaker.io. I was in the same boat when I first downloaded the game from the app store. After conducting some research and playing the game Snaker.io for hours I have come up with what I believe the percentage score in the game means.
The percentage in the game Snaker.io refers to the percentage of the energy/ size on the board your snake possess. Each little orange, piece of food if you will, accounts for a small portion of the total energy on the board; a percentage. As your snake accumulates small percentages it eventually adds up to a full percent and continues to grow from there. The larger your percentage the better you are doing. The ultimate goal of the game is to get 100%. However, as I have stated earlier nobody has managed to do that yet.
Tips and Strategies to Get A Higher Score in Snaker.io! How to Get a Higher Percentage!
Getting a higher score in Snaker.io can be frustrating. Most of the time when you die you are not being reckless, it just so happens that someone jumps in front of you out of the blue and you can’t react fast enough. Below I will share some of the best tips and strategies you can use to get a higher score in the game Snaker.io and maybe even break the world record high score!
Move Vertically, Not Horizontally
Moving horizontally in the game Snaker.io is essentially a death sentence. The screen does not let you see as far to the left or right. This means that if you just let your snake cruise in one of those directions you are more likely to get caught off guard by an oncoming snake.
It makes much more sense to move up and down across the playing surface for the majority of time because you have a much larger field of vision. When traveling vertically up or down, you can see much further and will have more time to react when another snake’s body gets in the way.
The Borders of The Playing Surface Are Your Friends
You can use the border as a shield to protect yourself from hitting other snakes and dying. If you find yourself in a sticky situation where other player’s snakes are all around you and you don’t really have many options, the border is always a good way to get away.
If you direct your snake perpendicular into the border the front of your snake’s head will be safe from hitting other snake’s bodies. If another snake hits the head of your snake while you have it pointed directly into the edge of the playing surface, the other snake will die, not you. Then you can go scoop up his remains and increase your percentage.
Use Your Snake’s Body to Your Advantage to Get More Kills
As your snake grows so does your opportunity to use it to your snake’s body to your advantage. You can use your body as sort of a temporary shield. When you are close to a number of other snakes you can travel back through your own snake’s body to safety. This works best when the body of your snake is very long. You can then create a circle with your snake and create a safe zone for yourself when things seem dicey.
You can also use your snakes body to completely surround enemy snakes. When you completely surround another snake you can slowly and carefully constrict them by making the circle smaller and smaller until they have no choice but to run into your body and give you the kill. I have gotten hundreds of kills in Snaker.io this way. The only thing you have to be sure of is that your snake is long enough. Your percentage needs to be higher than 20% for this to really be an effective strategy.
