Drag n Merge Tips and Strategies! How to Get a Higher Score in Drag n Merge!

Keep Higher Numbered Blocks Away From The Bottom of The Pile

When you play the game Drag n Merge block placement is key. If blocks end up drifting to certain areas of the game board, you will end up in a pickle where you won’t be able to merge blocks together. To prevent blocking in blocks it is important that you keep the lower numbered blocks as close to the bottom of the game board as possible. New blocks, or blocks with relatively lower numbers on them will rise into the game board from the bottom. You should always try to keep the blocks with larger numbers toward the top of the pile while keeping lower numbered blocks closer to the bottom. This will prevent blocking higher number blocks at the bottom of the pile where it will be difficult to merge them.

Try to Prevent Blocks From Connecting to One Another

Another great tip to keep in mind is to always try to break apart blocks that have linked to other blocks. If you leave two blocks in the same spot for an extended period of time they can become linked. Once blocks are linked it can be difficult to move them and they become a liability moving forward in the game. Try to move blocks frequently even if you are not merging them. If you find that two blocks have linked together, try to disconnect them by merging a single block with one of the two in the linked pair. Having too many linked blocks will lead to the pile stacking up to the top and the game ending prematurely which will result in lower scores.

  1. My high score is 1’000’000. I stopped as it took me ages to get there and I never lost any of my life.. getting boring..

  2. I guess no more high scores, you used to be able to go back into the same game after a wait and get a couple more lives. Now that this is gone there isn’t much point to the game. Also I noticed that connected blocks after the update are now huge with 6 or more connected, so scores are lower.

    1. I just got 390,674 but noticed when I left off going full speed one day, and picked it up the next to continue the same game, that it slowed back down.
Ruru, did you experience that as well?

  3. Cher Ofstedahl

    My high score is 5302.
I am wondering why instead of three lives, I now only get two.? Also, what are the diamonds good for?

    1. The diamonds are used to start with higher numbers. On the main home screen you get to pick whether you start with 5’s, 10’s or 15’s.

    2. Diamonds are good for when you’re playing offline. Since you can’t watch ads offline, the game deducts 10 diamonds if you want to continue playing after losing a life.

    3. The diamonds are for starting at different like numbers cause usually you start at five you can use one diamond to start at ten and two diamonds to start at fifteen.
